bin Laden's blow business

I've yet to hear much, if anything, about this in the B-sphere so far today. The front page of the NYPost has the spread: COKE FIEND BIN LADEN.

(By DAN MANGAN) -- Osama bin Laden tried to buy a massive amount of cocaine, spike it with poison and sell it in the United States, hoping to kill thousands of Americans one year after the 9/11 attacks, The Post has learned.

The evil plot failed when the Colombian drug lords bin Laden approached decided it would be bad for their business - and, possibly, for their own health, according to law-enforcement sources familiar with the Drug Enforcement Administration's probe of the aborted transaction. The feds were told of the scheme earlier this year, but its existence had never been made public. The Post has reviewed a document detailing the DEA's findings in the matter, in addition to interviewing sources familiar with the case.

You know the drill with online newspaper articles... www.bugmenot.com.

Personally, I doubt the "Colombian drug lords" bin Laden supposedly (emphasis on SUPPOSEDLY) met with even blinked when he allegedly shared his dopey plot.

Forget a DEA CRACKdown, it's all about business.

Why the heck would ANY Colombian (or any global) narcotrafficker want to hurt their own clientel?? What would be the point? You'd have cokeheads from the ghettos to the trailerparks and the nice suits in between scared to death to do a line of nose candy.

So, in reality, I'm not so sure ol' Osama was really onto "America's financial Achilles heel" with this one...
